Awesome Animal Hats : )

LADYBUG HAT
All you need is:
            Red Yarn and Black Yarn
            Yarn Needle
            Black Felt
            Ruler
            Black Thread and Needle
            Stuffing (just for antennas)
To make the ladybug hat, follow my Easy Crochet Hat Pattern which can be found under the Home tab. Make the hat using red yarn, and switch to black for the last three to four rounds (checkout Rimmed Hat under Easy Crochet Hat Variations for directions).
Next, using black yarn you make two antennas:
R1: ch4 into a circle
R2: sc12 into circle
R3-R4: sc in each sc
R5: 6 *sc1, decrease1* (sc8)
R6-R8: sc in each sc
Tie off and leave long tail (12in)
Once you finish your antennas, stuff them until they are firm. Remember you want them to be able to stand up on the hat by themselves.
Now thread the yarn needle with the yarn from the antenna and sew it to the top of the hat. If you find that the antenna will not stand upright on the hat, take it off and put a piece of pipe cleaner inside to help hold it up.
Finally, using a ruler, make a 1in diameter circle out of the black felt. Using this circle as a template, cut out about 20 circles of the same size (depending on our hat size you may need more or less, I used 18 for a hat ending in 66sc).
Using the black thread and needle, sew your felt spots all over the hat and then congratulate yourself for making an awesome ladybug hat.

BEE HAT
All you need is:
            Yellow Yarn and Black Yarn
            Stuffing (just for antennas)
            Yarn Needle
To make the bee hat, follow my Easy Crochet Hat Pattern which can be found under the Home tab. Make the first four rounds with yellow yarn, than switch to black yarn for two rounds. Keep switching between four yellow rounds and two black rounds (for tips on making hat see Striped Hat under Easy Crochet Hat Variations).
Congratulations! You just made an awesome bee hat!!

FROG HAT
All you need is:
Green Yarn and Black Yarn (very little)
            Black Felt and White Felt
            Ruler
            Yarn Needle
            Black Thread and Needle
To make the frog hat follow my Easy Crochet Hat Pattern which can be found under the Home tab. Use any shade of green yarn you like, I have made both a dark and light green frog.
Once your hat is finished, start on making the back of the frog’s eyes:
R1: ch4 into circle
R2: 12 sc into circle
R3: 6 *1sc, 2sc in next sc* (18sc)
Tie off and leave a long tail for sewing.
Next, make two white felt circles with a 1in diameter. Then cut out two black felt circles with a 1/2 in diameter.
Using the needle and thread, sew each black circle to a white circle.
Continuing to use the needle and thread, sew the felt eyes to the green yarn eyes.
Now that your eyes are all together, use the yarn tail to thread the yarn needle and sew them to the top of your frog het.
Finally, thread the yarn needle with black yarn and sew two nostrils and a smile into the hat; then you can congratulate yourself for making an awesome frog hat!!!
